    vaginal scent

(I posted this under "sex" as well but maybe I could get opinions here too)

What do men think of the vulvar/vaginal scent? I have been convinced for years that I have some sort of infection because I have a scent, but after 3 tests I am forced to accept that I am "normal". (My gyn's words: "I wish I could explain to you how normal as normal could be you are.")

However, I'm still worried. I have a serious boyfriend. I am a virgin and planning not to have sex until marriage but I'm still worried that men wouldn't like the smell. It isn't fishy. Just... sweaty? I don't know. I am just wondering if I really am normal. Hard to know when you have never had sex before... or smelled another woman's vagina! Lol.

My boyfriend is not a virgin though, so would that effect what he thinks of my scent?

Thanks for listening to my insecure rant!

I think it's normal to worry about those kinds of things, even though you're a virgin do you & your boyfriend do anything else sexual? It's hard not to worry about those things & it is important to take the time to wash up when it need be, but I don't think you should worry too much about being "abnormal". If you're having any strange symptoms though (as in a particularly VULGAR smell, fishy smell or a lot of discharge) then I would worry about bacterial vaginosis or a yeast infection. Is your boyfriend also a virgin?

My boyfriend and I have never done anything sexual. I do not have a yeast infection or BV, I've been tested 3 times in the past 3 months.
I just don't like the smell. It's not fishy or yeasty, just sweaty and maybe a little acidic smelling. My doctor said she didn't smell anything while she was doing the tests, and I can usually only smell it in the crotch of my underwear or jeans if I hold them up to my nose, or if I touch myself and then smell my hand. Is that abnormal?

Sounds extremely normal! Everyone has a scent. Sometimes stronger scent sometimes not. What you can do is use baby wipes to clean off instead of toilet paper. Dont douche or use perfumes or sprays down there. As long as its not a real nasty smell youre good. Dont worry men expect the vagina to have a smell and many of them like it

There is a good chance you bf would find your scent intoxicating. There is also a good chance you are making a mountain out of a molehill.

Do you think drinking more water could help? I admit that I don't drink much water, not nearly as much as recommended. If I am "normal" as my doctor says, this could probably help make the smell less concentrated, right?
