    Chronic Yeast??

So I am pretty certain that i have a chronic yeast infection. I have had yeast in the past diagnoised by a doctor, and these are the same symptoms. Honestly, I hate going to the doctor so I haven't been checked for this one. I called my doctor and he called me in a diflucan with 1 refill. This has been going on now for 6+ months. Every time my hubby and I have sex the symptoms reoccur by the next day. My symptoms are burning, itching, discharge, and foul smell. This is making me very self conscious. I notice tehe smell all the time, no so certain if it is because i know it is there or what. But anyways back to treatment. I have used several of teh over the counter creams, but like i said it just keeps coming back. So I finally broke down and called my doctor and he called me in a diflucan (I didnt' tell him how long i had it, just that I had one). I took the pill, and within a few days it was gone, but again when i started my period and tried to wear tampons it came back, followed by everytime we haev sex it comes back. So i got a refil on teh diflucan and have added taking Yeast-guard with it.. so far the symptoms have lessened, but havent went away. it has been about 3 days. Anyone have any suggestions, or any advice about the yeast-guard pills.. this is my first time using the pills. the box says they have probiotics with them.

It's possible your husband may be carrying yeast and may need to be treated himself to keep from continually passing it back and forth. Also, do some research on unpasteurized apple cider vinegar. It is known for killing yeast and also for helping to add good flora back into your body to help avoid yeast infections.

I do believe you need a doctors visit. 6 months is a LONG time to be dealing with this. No one really likes going to the gyn, but you gotta do what you gotta do to take care of yourself.

Thanks for the reply. Would it be possible for him to have this without experiencing any symptoms. He is fine. hmmmmm..I will look into the vinegar. I've also thought about trying the yogurt. Will I hurt myself trying too many things at once. lol

Yes, definitely....yeast in men is often undetected because there are often no symptoms. The fact that you're getting them, getting rid of them, and then getting them again when you have sex makes me very suspicious to either him carrying yeast, or you being potentially allergic to his semen.

You must be careful trying anything on your own. If you're going to try yogurt you have to get the kind with live cultures. Do NOT get anything with sugar in it. And as for the Apple Cider Vinegar it has to be unpasteurized unfiltered. Do your research before you do anything. But my best suggestion is to get your guy checked out.

I agree 100%. Men can carry the yeast infections and you are probably passing it back and forth. I know this from experience. My first husband and I did this for months until I finally broke down and went to the doctor and he treated us both. Also watch taking antibiotics because they can cause yeast infections by causing an imbalance in the bacteria in your vagina. See your doc. I know how painful yeast infections can be.
