Bleeding out the rear while on period?

I noticed when I'm on my period and when I have bowel movement, I find that I bleed out my rear as well as the front...is this normal?

No its not normal for sure. But yes I have bled once like that, that too because before my period i was constipated, so when I went to relieve myself the stool was so hard that it sometimes causes a mini-cut there which heals with time. I have never faced a similar situation again,so do consult a doctor. And dont worry,we should remember that prevention is better..always better.

Hey, electric, we are twins! :P

I am not a native English speaker, so, I don't really understand what did you mean with 'rear'? did you mean, at the sides of your anus, or at the sides of your labia? :O

If it's at the sides of your anus and it hurts when passing stools, it is probably something that we call 'anal fissures' or cracks/tears around your anal region. One of the causes that I remember is constipation. I don't know if it has anything to do with our monthly period. So, you might want to avoid get constipated, add more fiber to your diet to soften your stool. Usually it will heal by itself, but try not to get that area injured for this mean time.

BUT, if you meant bleeding from the sides of your labia, I have no ideas about this. Sorry!

Still, the best advice will always be, consult your doctor.
