I Don't Know Whats Wrong
i am 13 and dont have my periods yet. Last month in January I woke up in the middle of the night with pain in my lower stomach. The next morning I was watching t.v and all of a sudden i had brown discharge with some blood. that lasted for about 4-5 days.from then on I haven’t had it and my discharge has gone back to its normal colour. what does this mean?Last edited by acerousme; 06-21-2012, 06:07 PM. Reason: just cleaning things up :) and edited it for ya :) -
Sometimes the blood you release on your period can be a little more brown or red depending on how long it's been waiting to come out (as I understand it!). If blood of any sort is exposed to air it starts to brown and I believe this is why we sometimes have browner coloured periods! I find sometimes at the beginning and end of a period mine is a lighter flow and darker colour. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about but if you are worried at all ask your mum or another close, older female relative, they'll be able to put your mind at ease immediately and will know when to seek professional help. This is a great opportunity to build a closer relationship with that person and opens the door to these more personal conversations which always seem more awkward when it's the adult forcing a chat upon us!!Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.Comment
