Help determining why I have not had my period

I have not had my period in almost 2 years. Firstly, because I was on birth control for over a year and quit taking it this past September. I have not had my period since. I was taking LoestrinFe 24 which completely took it away while I was on it. This past December I had a TINY bit of spotting for a couple of days, but in two years, that is it.

Now, another factor I have to put into the equation is my weight loss. When starting the pill two years ago I was 5'8" and weighed about 165 lbs. Since January of 2011 (about a year and a half ago) I began loosing weight through calorie restriction and exercise. I lost weight pretty rapidly, and have been on a 1300 calorie diet for over a year now. The weight loss had steadied now to where I am just maintaining about 125 lbs. I am a health fanatic and eat a ton of healthy fats, pure protein, all organic, superfoods, etc. I am very health conscious. I know only being 19 years old, I should be eating more then 1300 calories a day, however, my disordered side keeps me there because I am at a plateau.

If anyone who knows what they are talking about, has had personal experience, etc. could please give me some insight onto what the problem is, I would really appreciate it. I have heard that after quitting birth control you may not get your period for a while, but it has been 10 months. Being so health conscious, I WANT my period!

Heavily restricting calorie intake can stop your periods, your body starts to shut down unecessary functions to save energy and doesn't want you to conceive when your body assumes you are starving. I have had eating problems in the past and at my worst stage I missed a period, that was one of my wake up calls and I've been working to keep on top of my self esteem and eating since. May not apply to you but I hope it helps.
Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.

Right, thank you for your nonjudgmental response. I absolutely know that extreme weight loss and malnutrition leads to a loss of your menstrual cycle. I have had it happen years ago, before ever getting on birth control. I guess I'm just wondering if that truly is it. Because I eat so many healthy fats and am in check with all my nutrients, etc. And hearing how birth control screws it up.
I actually am confused on how many calories I should be eating because I know if i eat more, i will gain. And I did a special test on this scale that told me I should be eating 1400, so maybe at 1300 im not so far off, which seems low to me if looking at it compared to what other young women eat.
