Abnormal discharge, bleeding after orgasm. Help!
Okay, I just found this forum today. I am 19 years old and have suffered from very heavy periods since I was 13. I went on birth control about 2 years ago (just for the periods, I am still not sexually active), and tried a couple of different kinds. I've been on Levora for I think a little over a year or more now. However, my prescription ran out 2 months ago, so my doctor prescribed Altavera, just for the next 3 months, which is supposedly the same thing, but I hadn't been having any problems with my period until I started the Altavera.
I'm supposed to get my period every 3 months, and I was on the second pack of Altavera when it started. I bled for like a week and a half and it finally stopped. Right before that period I noticed my discharge seemed a bit excessive and was like a bright yellow color rather than the usual clear color. I read that it could be bacterial vaginosis, would that cause the bleeding?
Anyways, the period ended a couple days ago and today after masturbating I went to the bathroom and there was a lot of very dark blood with what I think was a clot in it. It's only been about an hour since then and I put a tampon in, so I'll see later how much I actually bled and how long it lasts. I've noticed that after I orgasm, maybe 7/10 times I bleed afterwards. It's usually not excessive though and only lasts for the rest of that day. I get cramps usually too. I need to make a gynecologist appointment anyway because they won't give me a new prescription of my birth control until I get a pelvic exam (haven't had one yet), but I am extremely anxious about it and know it will be very awkward talking about orgasming/masturbating with her haha.
What do you guys think the problem could be? I was wondering if it was endometriosis because my mom had the same problems when she was younger that I'm having (I mean i haven't told her about the orgasm thing, just that I've been bleeding abnormally), and she ended up having to have a hysterectomy when she was about 26.
Also, any advice on how to talk to my mom about it?? We have a great relationship and we talk pretty openly about sex, I mean we joked about blow jobs once, so I know she wouldn't be weird about me telling her that I bleed after orgasms. But it's still that awkward thing that no one wants to talk to their parents about haha help?
