No bother, we are here to try to help. When periods are heavy, the blood tends to be darker. Still nothing to worry about. I am out of town, but will be back at my computer on Sunday. I'll try to get more detailed then. (This smartphone is pain to type on) I wish there was more reassurance I could give, but NEVER hesitate to ask question. We enjoy helping others

Okay, so as promised, I'm back in town. To get a little more detailed with the last answer, you state that the blood was dark red, almost black. If it was that dark when the flow was heavy, as stated above, it was probably because there was a lot at one time and that is normal. If you are saying that it was dark, almost black/brown, that will happen near the end of your cycle sometimes because it's 'old' blood, meaning your body didn't discharge it before it turned dark, again, nothing to worry about. Are you having any other signs or symptoms? Hopefully all is well. Take care and keep us updated.Comment

I didn't know that you had passed a very large clot. When you go to the doctor or clinic, talk to them about some form of birth control. Condoms are okay, but they can rip or slip. They help prevent std's, but if you are going to be sexually active, you should safeguard yourself a little more. Nothing is 100%, but we can stack the odds in our favor. Let me know what you find out after getting checked.
