Extremely painful and swollen side of vaginal opening PLEASE HELP!!!!
I am a 25 year old female who is suffering from a very painful and swollen half of the opening to my vagina. Not the labia minora but the actual opening to the vagina itself. It is painful all the time, a very aching pain as well as it looks angry. I have had the gardisil vaccine and it doesn't appear to have any wart like growths (just the normal swollen folds of the vaginal opening). I did start having sex with a new partner who is very large causing painful sex. The swelling has happened over the last few days and is growing increasingly painful. I have heard of cysts in this area being painful. Also it does not hurt in water nor when I urinate, nor does it have any appearance of blisters or sores. I am away from home and do not have my gynocologist close by to run it by her. I have always been very responsible with my sexual health but am terrified it may be something horrible. Help Please! -
You could be " Torn " if he was very large, did not take the time to Lubricate you or use a Condom or take the time to enter Gently .I did start having sex with a new partner who is very large causing painful sex. The swelling has happened over the last few days and is growing increasingly painful.

Away from home, you can still see a Dr or Gyno if you have Insurance, with Faxes and Internet , it's almost like being There, but sometimes leave you with more Questions and More Fears of " What if It is The Worst Scenario " ?
New Partner, is he free from STD's himself ?
It sounds as if You did some Internet Search on your Symptoms.
We can help Support you here, with Compassion and maybe Suggestions . But we are Not DR's and many of us have been in a Problem ourselves , but maybe Not in Your Exact Predicament or Symptoms. So to offer other than Possible First Time Experienced Advice.
I can only say " see a Professional " .Refrain from ANY INTERCOURSE, until the Swelling and Pain go away .
Good luck

Dear compassion83,sounds like you have a Bartholin's cyst.Bartholin's glands are two glands found either side of the vaginal opening that play a major part in lubrication during sex.An inflammed bartholin's gland may be caused by infection or a physical blockage which doesn't allow the gland to drain its content.I would say you need to see a doctor who will either prescribe antibiotics or will suggest the cyst is drained. Good Luck
