No Period for over 4 years on the pill, now bleeding.

    Heya all,

When I went on the pill, I had normal regular (but annoyingly quite heavy) periods. After a couple of years of being on the pill, my periods gradually got less and less over a year and then eventually stopped altogher.

I'm 23, 24 in December and I haven't had a period for over 4 years but then today I noticed blood. It technically is that time of the month where i'm off the pill, but it's a little suprising and confsing why this has happened suddenly.

I'm not sure how long I'll bleed for so will monitor it over the next few days. It's not a lot like I used to have but I would definatly call it a period.

I haven't put on or lost any weight recently, not on any medication. The only strange thing that has happened recently is that my hair has been getting a little thin and dry on the lengths, and gets greasy very quickly from me itching my head more than usual (I do have dermatitus), but I was putting it down to a possible shampoo problem and bought some tgel yesterday to see if it helps. I read this could be from hormone imbalance though.

Should I worry too much or can this sort of thing just happen?

Thanks for any advice in advance.

I wouldnt worry too much about it, I would keep an eye on it and if it happens next month go to the Dr or if it gets really heavy see the Dr.

I am on the Implanon and I have noticed blood for the first time in over 2 years - mine is because of the single hormone that I am on decreasing the amount it gives every month.

Thankyou for your reply, it's made me feel a little better about it. I will keep an eye on it, it's not heavy at the mo so I will leave it be for now. Thanks again x
