Laparoscopy Anyone?
Hey everyone! I am just curious if anyone has had a laparascopy to remove ovarian cysts. I am going to be scheduled for this surgery soon (I have a fairly large cyst (5.5 cm) on my left ovary that is perfectly functional, BUT unfortunately stubbornly attached for 2 years and counting! And yes, I have been on bcp for 1 year and the cyst is growing, not shrinking....thus the option for surgery) My gyno told me it is a relatively simple, in-and-out type surgery. He gave me a rough estimated cost of $3000 (I do NOT have insurance). Just wondering if anyone has had this done for any type of cyst, what was the experience like and WHAT WAS THE COST!? Thanks!

Thanks!
Thanks for the advice Sourpuss! I will deffinately take it easy....I work in an office, sit down all day, so I shouldn't miss too much work. I hope it doesn't cost twice that, although I guess the procedures for removing a cyst vs. endo could be pretty different? Did you just make a payment arrangement for the bill?
God Bless!

I had laparoscopy surgery 2 weeks ago for endometriosis for the third time. I spent 2 days in bed and went back to work on the 3rd day but was back in bed for 2 more days. Even though I work in an office the SITTING caused pain and cramps. Lying down was the only way to relieve the pain. I should have had it done on a Friday so I could have more time to recover before going back to work. I am not sure what the cost was our insurance pays for most of it but I know you should be able to talk to your Dr. about payment arrangements before hand. Good Luck and may God be with you.Comment
