    No menstrual cycle for 3months

    Hi All!
I'm new to this forum and I have a question about my cycle.

I'm seventeen almost eighteen years old and have never been sexually active.
It has been so frustrating to skip a period for 3 months straight!
Skipping has only happened to me once before, but I have never skipped for this amount of time.
I have never been on the pill or any other kinds medications either.
I know people say, "Relax and don't stress out" and that it should come
faster if I do not stress, but with school and studies to stay on top of, it is very hard NOT to!
    Any advice?

    Thanks!!

Well, you aren't sexually active so you know that you aren't pregnant. With that in mind, it will come when it comes. I understand that it's frustrating not knowing when to expect it. Just carry something with you so that when it shows up, you're prepared

Haha, I know thank God! Thanks for the advice, Euphoric .
I'll definitely be sure to carry some pads and a change of underwear with me!

Being a female can suck sometimes. Keep in mind that anytime you make drastic dietary changes, begin or change exercise routines, deal with abnormal amounts of stress, etc. your cycle may be altered. When I was younger, playing sports, and on the road a lot, I kept tampons in the glove box of my car, just in case. BTW, welcome to the forum

          Welcome!!! Love your name.

When I was in high school I got into running every day and even though I didn't feel like I had lost weight, apparently I lost just enough to throw my period out of whack. The same can go for weight gain. Do you consider yourself underweight, avg or overweight?

And the things Euphoric mentioned as well. DEF carry some emergency items because when it comes, it could come fast and with fury.

Seriously, no one understands how hard it is to be a women! Men have it way too easy :P!
Lately I've been flip flopping with food LOL!
I start to eat healthy and then I go for the junk food. So since it is a New Year, I'm trying to stay focused
on eating right and having at least 15mins of exercise daily.
Thanks for the welcome and quick replies !

My mother passed down a genetic disorder; basically our brains don't send the signal that it's time to menstruate, so we don't. It's random that we'll get a period without the use of birth control. My Mom use to be like clock work for years on end, but eventually genetics took over and she has to be on hormones to get her period.

So I suggest you getting checked out by the doctor to see if you have anything of the kind like we do. It could be a change in diet, stress in your life, but if it is a disorder, the sooner you get it straightened out, the better. Once a woman is in her 20's, she needs to get her period every month or she risks having problems; not able to have kids, need to be scraped, being chemically imbalanced. Women need to get their period. So I highly suggest a trip to your doctor.
