VERY long time with no period! HELP ME!

    Hello,

I haven't had period in almost a year. Before that it was about 6 months. My doctor says I'm fine but I don't think that's right. I don't know how a woman who is supposed to have a menstrual cycle every month, wouldn't have one for almost a year! I get occasional cramping as if I am going to get it but then within a day or two it goes away and the period never comes. I was on the Depo shot over 2 years ago, I read this can have a big affect on irregularity for UP TO 18 months... Well obviously I'm past that now and it's still happening. Ever since the Depo I haven't been on any other birth control. I had a papsmear done about 6 months ago and they didn't find anything abnormal other than BV, currently still trying to treat that. Posted on a different forum thread for help/recommendations with that. I don't have medical insurance any longer so going to a doctor is kind of out of the question unless it is URGENT.

Please help me! Any ideas? Suggestions? Comments? Please, anything!!

Get your doctor to do a blood test to check your thyroid and if it shows nothing get a ultrasound done
I'm currently waiting on my ultrasound results now because I have the same problem over 8 months now without one.
Hope that helps p.s. depo has messed up a lot of women.. I wouldn't recommend getting that again.
P.s. 2 apply for Medicaid too

Thank you!! Ironically I got it today! The reason I actually stopped depo was because I found out it lowers bone density after a year or two of being on it. I loved it because it was so convenient and your covered after only 24 hrs of being on it but I did get bad side effects like spotting and horrible mood swings (my poor boyfriend!). I started taking coconut oil daily a week or two ago which helps support reproductive health and hormones among many other things. I think that may have helped a bit. I will definitely keep the thyroid test and ultrasound in mind if it goes longer than a month again. Thank you for responding and good luck!! I hope everything comes back with news to help your irregularity issues too! If you don't mind sharing, I would love to hear the results because I have a feeling I'm not going to just become miraculously regular again!

      Thanks!

Your welcome, and yes I will let you know what the results are and trust me it doesn't fix it self I was on birth control pills for years and it stopped working for regulating my period and also infertility could be a issue but don't worry they can give you things to help that.

Yeah I was thinking of infertility too because of the BV I have that just won't go away no matter what I do. Someone told me they had BV long enough that they are no longer fertile. That part worries me because I'm only 21 and wanted to have kids in the next few years. Well anyways let me know what happens!! Hope it's all good news =]

I'm also 21 and what's crazy I had a baby without having a period. For 6 months that was over a year ago so that's just something to think about you can get pregnant with no period so good luck (:
