Received a card to call my gyno about recent tests results, but pap was 3 months ago

My last pap smear/visit to my gyno was in November 2012. Today I received a card from my Dr to call the office about results from my recent test. Why would I just now be notified of any results fom a test 3 months ago. It seems they would have had these results within a few weeks of my test & normally no call means no news. Now I am confused & starting to worry. I am trying not to get myself in a panic, I know even if it was an abnormal pap that doesn't necessarily mean something bad. I have been feeling fine the last 3 months & the only other abnormal pap I have had was almost 10 years ago & turned out to be an infection of some sort. Its just really thrown me for a loop because my appt was so long ago I thought all was well. And of course the fact that I received this card today, in the evening, after the office was closed for tht weekend isn't helping. I will not be able to contact them now until Tuesday. I am nervous more than anything that I will have to get a biopsy because I've been there before & it hurts! I do not want to go through that again!

Anyone else ever have that long of a period of time in between getting the pap & any news on the results? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that maybe they lost my results so I have to get it redone or they sent the card to the wrong person. Does the fact that they sent a card & not call straightaway make any difference as to what the news could be? Sorry for rambling, just a little nervous I guess...

i would think if it was reallly important they would have tried to contact you by phone by now..i had received something like that because they had seem a high level of something in my urine and had me to come back for a retest and everything was normal. they said it was just because it was during a certain time in my cycle.
