The most Severe menstraul cramps I've ever experienced :(

Like every period I always experience bad cramping, mostly due to the copper IUD, but I've adjusted to it over the 2 years I've had it. But this period right now is HORRID. I've been cramping off and on for a week. Than finally the old, dark blood and large clots appear and suddenly I'm cramping like I'm in LABOR. The pain extends down my legs and into my upper abdomen. My stomach is getting tight and feels hard to the touch and it just comes on like an explosion, and i'm in tears, holding my lower abdomen hoping the pain subsides quickly. My mom had a partial hysterectomy due to endometriosis and I am wondering with the extended cramps and intense pain that I may actually have it but it's just progressively getting worse. My periods aren't as normal as they used to be.

I just turned 30 and I can tell my hormones are changing rapidly. I'm getting acne and never had that before and periods sometimes skip an entire month. In fact I've taken 500mg of Hydrocodone and it's not doing a **** thing!!!

Opinions or advice ladies? Please? Thanks!!

My mom used to get blood clots so large that she essentially had to go into labor to pass them through. So it is possible that your body is going into labor to pass the blood clots. She has polycystic ovary syndrome. She eventually had to have a hysterectomy. I would definitely suggest seeing a doctor about your condition, though. From what I have read online the time to see a doctor about a blood clot (when dealing with menstruation) is when they are consistently larger than a quarter or 50 cent piece (I can't remember which at the moment). Missing periods is also a sign of PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome).

I would definitely make an appointment with your gyno and have this checked out.

My daughter has cramps like you describe and and the gyno put her on the pill. It has helped some but some months she is excruciating pain like you described. She soaks in a HOT tub of water and keeps the heating pad on her. She also takes 800 mg of ibrprofen for the pain. Pain pills never worked on her.

She didn't get this from me because I have very little cramping ever. Once I got my tubes tied 9 years ago they increased but nothing even remotely near what she goes through.
