    Strange cramps, stabbing pains, soreness...?

    Hi everyone

I posted this in gynaecology because I'm assuming that's what it is.

Lately, I've been having some strange issues. About a week ago ago I suddenly got awful cramps in what felt like my uterus. I'd had my period approximately 2 weeks before then. They were horrendous and lasted the entire day, and even with pain medication they still felt like extreme menstrual cramps. Assuming my system was off-schedule I expected to come onto my period, but it didn't happen. I had slight blood spotting but mainly just discharge. A day or so after these cramps, I woke up, got out of bed and crumbled to the floor in agony. I wasn't able to straighten my torso because my lower abdomen/pelvic area felt like it was on fire - literally. It got better once I'd breathed through it, and while it was still painful, I got through the day. This was 2 days ago, and the pain is gradually getting worse. I find it hard to sit down/stand up/move in general without getting pain in my groin area, just inside of where my hip bones poke out. It's worse on my right side.

Peeing can be a bit uncomfortable and I get a slight burning sensation, but it's not excruciating. I haven't had sex in a while, but when I do, it's generally uncomfortable and I need to go very slow. I've been having cloudy, excessive discharge all throughout. My breasts are also slightly sore on the outsides, near my armpit.

Any idea what this could be??! Sorry if it was TMI for anyone.

Hm. Because of the burning sensation when you urinate, it makes me wonder if it's a urinary tract infection. I haven't had a UTI myself, but upon a very quick search of UTI symptoms, this is what I found:

-You feel pain or burning when you urinate.
-You feel like you have to urinate often, but not much urine comes out when you do.
-Your belly feels tender or heavy.
-Your urine is cloudy or smells bad.
-You have pain on one side of your back under your ribs. This is where your kidneys are.
-Urine that appears red, bright pink or cola-colored — a sign of blood in the urine
    -Pelvic pain, in women

Since the urethra and the cervix are separate openings, I don't think you'd be having burning while urinating if it was a problem in the uterus. I would consider seeing a doctor, it sounds like the pain is very severe.

I suggest you go to a OBGYN as soon as possible. It could be a number of things from as aboved mentioned a UTI, or your appendix (which if it's been a few days it would gradually get to the point you were in the ER and scheduled for surgery to have it removed), it could possibly be cysts in your ovaries and you were ovulating causing the cysts to rupture, Pelvic inflammatory disease, symptoms of an STD that needs to be diagnosed and treated because allowing an STD to go untreated can cause negative long term effects. I had severe pain similar to what you described several years ago. I had a tubal ligation (tubes tied) and was worried that it was possibly a tubal pregnancy or a problem with the tubal ligation that I had many years prior. I couldn't take the pain any longer and went to the OBGYN and it turned out to be fibroid tumors (which are benign) but I had 5 of them and they varied in sizes from the size of a marble to the size of a tennis ball. Shortly after discovering the tumors I had surgery and they were removed and I haven't had any problems since. There are so many things that could be causing your pain the only way to set your mind at ease and know for sure is to go to the doctor.
