I'm 16 and since the end of June/beginning of July I've been having constant pelvic cramping that worsens during and after physical activity (like jogging,swimming and even walking).

I had an ultrasound in August that revealed that I had a few cysts around 3 or 4mm.
They gave me two options:wait a few months and redo the ultrasound or go to a gyneocologist
I chose to go to a gyneocologist
She ordered some blood tests and anouther ultrasound,which I already did but she doesn't have the results yet.My mom and I both though that the cysts looked bigger on the recent ultrasound than it did on the other one I had in August.

I was wondering,my gyneocologist was pressing on my stomach during the exam and she said she felt something on my ovary.If it was just normal functional or fullicular cysts would she beable to feel it?

If it is a cyst what are some treatments?

Also today it has begun hurting alot worse and it isn't just a constant cramping anymore it feels more like a stabbing pain.The pain has gotten worse over the course of today and now it really hurts (enough to not beable to lift things or even walk normally).I have already taken some asprins for it but it doesn't seem to help.Is there anything I can do for the pain?

If this isn't a cysts what else could it be?

I am constantly being diagnosed with cysts. The doctors say they aren't supposed to cause pain that the endometriosis causes pain. Generally unless they torsion (twist) they let them be. They usually disapate on their own and are usually simple meaning they are filled with water or benign fluid. I wrote a post on abdominal pain, irrigular periods and infertilility I think you should look at. It is under the gynecology link. I am sitting here typing this after my 6th laparoscopy for endometriosis. I had surgery friday. It is very frusterating but sounds a lot more like your symptoms. Let me know if it sounds like what you are going through. This all started when I was 13 and no one believed me. I now have one of the best doctors in the country. Sorry It has taken me so long to reply back.

If I had endometriosis wouldn't that have shown up on the ultrasounds?

The stabbing pain I noted in my last post got bad enough to make me go to the ER.They ended up doing a blood and urine test to rule out infection,and then said it was just my cysts acting up.Is it possible for cysts to "act up" like that?The pain eventually went away after a week and it has gone back to cramping abit worse than it was before I had that pain.

Before I had the pelvic cramping my cycle was 36-38 days but now it's anywhere from 16-28 days.Except for this month,I haven't gotten my period (on cycle day 43 and counting) though that could be caused by stress or other things,but I was wondering if cycsts or endometriosis could cause that much of a delay?

I have/had cysts that acted up when I ovulated. The pain can get so bad sometimes that it felt like an appendicitis or something... I literally couldn't bear all my weight on my foot on the side that the pain was on, otherwise it shot right to that spot. And it happened very randomly, some months not at all. I wonder if you were experiencing the pain because you were ovulating? I think my cycle has changed, because it hasn't happened in a very, very long time. But when I knew the symptoms I started with Motrin very early in the day if I felt soreness on the side that was ovulating, before the pain really kicked in. I happened to have an ultrasound once while I was ovulating and I had about seven small cysts. I never even knew what the pain was before - it had started happening in my early twenties.

I am almost positive that cysts or endometriosis would NOT cause you to miss your period. Stress, lack of sleep, change in diet or medication would do it, though.

cysts usually burst each month so it is less likely that it is your cyst acting up. My gyno is one of the best in the country and he says that they shouldn't cause pain. Sometimes you can feel them when they burst though. Yes your doctor could have felt it from the outside, no they can't always see endo thru ultrasound. It's amazing to me that the Dr's always say the cysts shouldn't cause pain, because mine always do. Mine always start out with cramping, nausea and aching feelings, but they do get sharp and sometimes unbearable when they rupture. Most of the time they go away or rupture on their own, but they do have some pills to help dissolve them, or there is always surgical removal if needed. My Dr. has prescribed pain meds when they have ruptured in the past. You may want to try pms meds or herbal teas (something to help relax you).
