Vaginal burning while std free...Help
I have been experiencing vaginal burning and discomfort without pain for about a month. This has happened once before but went away on its own. I went to the doctor and was tested for BV, Yeast, Trich and other std's. All of that come back negative but the doctor precribed Flagyl and Diflucan to me anyways. I have taken all the meds and I'm still having this burning/itching feeling( it does not burn when I urinate), but I feel like I'm going crazy. I do not douche or take sit down baths, I wear cotton underpants (not thongs), and I cant think of any thing that could be causing an allergic reaction. I've tried RePHresh and vagisil and did not not find any relief. Also,I am in a long term monogamous relationship.can anyone offer me suggestions so that I can get my sanity and my intimacy back with my partner. -
just a crazy thought here but maybe your partners semen could be irratating to you. i have heard of people being actually allergic to their partners semen. it could be far fetched but it was just a thought. and also have you changed your soap you shower with or detergent you wash your clothes in those also could be some culprits. -
I had switched soaps a while back but I didnt like the new soap so I went out and replaced it with my old perfume and dye free soap. I also switched my shampoo around the same time, maybe I should switch back in case some of the residue is whats causing this. As far as it being my partners semen, I dont see how thats possible since I'm still experiencing the symptoms and we have not had sex in over two weeks. I just feel like I'm at a complete loss for whats going on with my body right now.Comment

I'm very sensitive to the bleaching process that's used in mainstream pads and pantyliners. After I started using chlorine-free products, everything was much better.
Vagisil is full of fragrances, which can cause irritation (sort of counter-productive).
I'm also sensitive to nonoxynol-9, any kind of "jelly" sex toys, and lubes that contain warming chemicals.Comment

I thought I would update. I went back to GYN and they ran cultures testing for bacterial, fungal, or e-coli infections and everything came back normal (negative). Even my Doc seems kind of puzzled at this point.
I will definately look at the type of pads and tampons that I'm using.I too am sensitive to perfumes and dyes so this was one of the first things I thought about. As far as spermicides , bad stuff, I found out the hard way that it causes a severe reaction.
I'll try to keep updated as I'm hoping to figure out the miserable mystery.Comment

hello again,
well thanks for the update on things. well maybe when you have your period next time you can use a different type of product other than pads or tampons. it is called "instead" it is a cup like thing that catches the flow. it's soft and sort of like a diaphragm. takes a bit of practice but it works well for me and you can even have intercourse with it inserted. i'm sure you can buy these at walmart or most drug stores.
