I'm new here.. and a little worried.

Ok i'm 18 and i had my son when i was 16, ever since then i was on the shot.. then i got off the shot and my periods were regular and pretty much came around the sametime. But i haven't had my period since late october/early november.. i took a prenancy test and it said negative. I've been cramping like i'm about to start but nothing's happening. I just moved two weeks ago.. so i think the stress from that is gone by now. I'm just worried and it's not making any sense. Any advise?

First of all congratulations on getting off of the shot...so many adverse effects with that darn thing and the docs don't want you to know that! I would guess that you're just suffering from your typical bout of hormonal imbalance...first off our bodies aren't actually ready for children until we're at least halfway through our twenties...and then as soon as you had your baby you were put on a heavy dose of synthetic hormones...another huge insult to your system! I would highly recommend scheduling an appointment with your Gynecologist and do be sure to have her perform a full blood panel on you...make sure that you stress the importance of checking your liver function...birth control of any kind can cause harmful effects to our livers, but luckily it's the one organ in our bodies that goes far and beyond in resiliency! I hope you find your answers!!

Your cycle could be changing, and I can see if stress made you miss one period - it definitely happens - but if you've missed more than one, why not just have a quick phone call or visit with your gyno or regular doctor to see what's going on. Our reproductive organs are so sensitive; it is a miracle the way it works. But, no period, no pregnancy - I would just ask a doctor about that.

Thank you guys so much!! I figured i should go to the gyno but i don't have insurance... but i guess it'd be better to pay what i have to then have my body not be right. thanks again!
