    severe cramps

I'm having severe menstrual cramps, the worst I've ever had. I was in bed almost asleep when the first cramp hit, I screamed and scared poor hubby. He wants to take me to the ER but I don't want to go.

If anyone knows any home treatment let me know soon. I have taken 2 celebrex, sat in warm bath and let Kiyomi massage my abdomen. It is much worse when i lay down so I'm sitting up, it could be a long night.

Hubby took me to the ER, it was not menstrual cramps. It was a partial small bowel obstruction. It cleared itself shortly after they set a decompression tube in my stomach. Tests showed that I have adhesive bands in the area where I had intestinal surgery 6 years ago. Because I just started my period I assumed it was period cramps, good thing hubby insisted on going to the ER or I might not have found out the cause.

They said I should have surgery to release the adhesions and probably should have an intestinal stent inserted to prevent it from happening again. If I have any more problems that what they'll do. I am on partial bed rest for 3 days and at the first sign of cramping go to the hospital. It's a good thing Kiyomi is here to take care of Misako and me, it's like having my own private nurse.

Wow Chaya, quite the ordeal! Good to hear your getting good treatment, both in hospital and at home.

        Take care.
