I'm not sure what to make of these changes, or why they have occurred. I'm concerned that these changes and the increase of regularity could mean it will be easier for my partner to get me pregnant.

do you have to "get used" to a sexual partner?
I'm 21 and have only had 2 male sexual partners, the first for only about 3 months, the current I've had for around 7 months. With my first partner, we used protection about half the time, and my periods during that time were quite irregular, at one point occurring two weeks early. Cramping and PMS also greatly decreased. Once we stopped having sex, my cycle quickly went back to normal. The same thing happened with my current sexual partner, with my period coming either early or late for a period of four cycles in the beginning of our relationship. I also didn't experience mittelschmerz during this time, which is very unusual for me. But since the fifth cycle, my period has become regular again. Some other changes have occured as well, such as less severe PMS and cramping, and the return of mittelschmerz. Also, within the past two cycles I've experienced breast pain during ovulation, which is entirely new to me.
I'm not sure what to make of these changes, or why they have occurred. I'm concerned that these changes and the increase of regularity could mean it will be easier for my partner to get me pregnant. -
I'm not sure if sexual partners or sexual activity have much influence over menstrual cycles. It sounds like you have a very irregular cycle regardless of sexual partners.
You said you used protection half the time with the first partner - what do you use now? If you aren't already on the pill, it sounds like you may want to consider it. It will help make your cycle predictable and on schedule, and also less severe.Comment

Mittelschmerz (German: "middle pain") is a medical term for "ovulation pain" or "midcycle pain" per Wikipedia.
I noticed something similar with my wife years ago. If she didn't have sex for a while (several weeks - she was the one who wanted sex less often, I was ready to go at most any time), she was more on edge (not mellow). Having sex mellowed her out.I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?
