    my vagina is being weird

About 5 weeks ago I was dating this guy and we tried hooking up but I have problems in the vagina department. I'm very tight and don't handle pain very well down there. He was being very ruff with my vagina while fingering me and he kept trying to put his penis in me. (I knew it wouldn't work so I kept telling him to stop) But he was very determined. Anyway, the next few days my v was very sore. Then it felt itchy! Then a lot of discharge started coming out and it smelt funny. I told my mom and she said it sounded like a yeast infection. (It sure smelled like one-my vagina smelt like bread!)
But this is where it gets weird, my period was late. A little bit of that brown blood one gets at the b eginning of their period was coming out for about a week. I went to my doctor (not the lady doctor, she was booked until September) and I told my doctor my symptoms- and by this point I was sure I had a uti because I would have to go to the bathroom very suddenly and feel like I couldn't hold it. So my doctor gave me pills for that. And they caused my vagina to get red and look a little irritated. But that cleared up well and my period came... Everything seemed okay down there again, it looked clean, no rash, no bumps, no smell. (I was actually told it smelled good)
But then for the past week/week & a half I've been swimming in pools and in the ocean and I noticed it doesn't smell great anymore. And it's a little itchy at the top near the vulva. But I've bee n shaving it a lot too and the hairs starting to grow in. My mom told me it's probably just dry because of the shaving cream I use and the swimming I've been doing and the fact I don't wear cotton underwear. Is my mom right? Or do I have a problem? These days you can't be too careful with all the diseases you can catch.

How old are you? I ask because you seem to have your Mom very involved in your vaginal health, which is really unusual unless you are still at home and reasonably young.

It would appear to me that if you were telling him to stop and he didn't stop, that and then you were being assaulted. This is not acceptable in any standard. If he was rough enough to damage your vagina in some way, perhaps by bruising or scratching you, the I'd expect you to have some problems. Do you know whether or not he had any type of STD? Even if he didn't insert his penis fully into your vagina he could still transmit STDs.

If the doctor cleared up the initial yeast infection you may want to go back and see if you need a second round of treatment. It sometimes takes more than one go round. If you still are having problems with the smell and with itching, then you may have BV and will need to get that treated.

The dry itchy skin on top could be from too much attention. Let things grow in for a while and see how it feels then. Use a really good skin cream to soothe and soften the skin.

It could turn out that after-all, your Mom is right.
That which we forget may as well never really happened.

I'm 18, I still live with my mom. And her and are pretty close. I showed her my vagina to see if she noticed anything unusual, but she said it look perfectly healthy. I should have also mentioned in my post that my vagina is VERY sensitive to soaps and creams. I used to have a constant itch down there when I was younger. Some thing I should probably mention is that today would be the day I get my period but since it was late last month I guess it's thrown off? And again like last month I have yeast like discharge.
And I don't know if the guy I was dating last month had anything. He stopped talking to me after that night he found out I couldn't have sex with him. And it wasn't like he was sexually assaulting me that night. I wanted to have sex with him, but I just gave up when it started to hurt.
