This is embarrassing, but I was with my boyfriend yesterday. He started to preform oral sex on me and after a few minutes he suddenly stopped and informed me that I smelt bad down there. This was the first time we ever noticed it during sex. Earlier in the morning I did notice an unpleasant smell. So before having in the evening sex I washed myself down there. But I guess that didn't help.

I almost want to say it smells like strong urine. I haven't been drinking a lot of water lately. Sorry for details, but my urine is extra yellow. I'm definitely going to start drinking more water. I've also been looking online at feminine washes. I saw that Vagisil has an odor blocking wash. Does anyone have any washes they recommend?

Don't use washes. It may cause problems and it will be less effective than mild soap and water. Vagisil does make some exterior wipes I've used but I'm not sure the residue would taste that great. They are useful at other times than before sex. Best solution is to get a beard trimmer with a very short setting and keep it all trimmed. It's mainly urine not wiping off the hair. Also discharges down there can carry some of the components of urine. Hydrating yourself will not only lessen the smell left from urinating but can lessen the scent of secretions. Various times in your cycle may also cause a short term change in smell that some may find similar to urine.

mlp, is this something that has just happened after a long time with no complaints?

My experience has been that urine odor is not present after a shower or bath. If the woman urinates, there may be a slight odor and taste of urine even if a small amount of water has been used to clean up. If paper has been used to clean up, there can be a somewhat stronger odor and taste.

As kira says, some discharges can have the odor of urine. Also, your bf could be extra sensitive to the odor of urine at this time. Possibly him being sick or taking medicine could heighten his sensitivity. Your own observation of an unpleasant odor is something I have less confidence in since many women who have a scent that is fine are convinced that they have an unpleasant odor, IMO. Your bf saying something could have your mind confirming your worst fears.

My nose is sensitive to iron. I can usually tell that a woman's period is almost there a day or two before she has it if I have been giving her oral. I don't find that odor objectionable. Have you had boyfriends in the past have objections?
