On my period for over 3 weeks help...
I generally have normal periods and my husband and I have been trying for baby for about six months now. The only problem is, is that I have been on my period since before christmas... I am having no pain, a little clotting. For the most part it seems like a pretty normal, but long period. Is this normal? Any advice would be great. -
in my opinion menstrating for 3 weeks is not normal. i would definatly see your gyno for some answers to this. elleeblu, as far as the iud it could be causing you to have heavier and lengthy periods. what type of iud is it? mirena or a hormone free copper type? tish i would really go see a gyno especially if you desire to have a baby.Comment

This all started back in October 2007. From October 1-November 3 2007 I was on my period, the pain was very unbarable. I was passing 2 blood clots a day the size of a quarter. I went to the gyno and she changed my birth control from Ortho 7-7-7 to Levlen 28. Well everything went back to normal no more pain, or clotting. My gyno told me to double up on my birth control for a couple of days if it happends again. Well Last month in May I had my normal period from May 17-23 no big deal. Well I stopped on the 24th but the next morning when I woke up, I was spotting. I spotted for 2 days, and then on the 27th I was on a heavy heavy period clotting the size of a dime. It is now June 7, 2008 and I am still on my period, and clotting I am having so much pain. All day and night I am pressing down on my right ovary. The pain is just sharp and it wont go away. Since this all started on May 17 I have gone through 4 tampons a day, and about 2 or 3 a night. I am going to the gyno on Monday to hopefully figure out what is wrong. My first cousin had similar symptoms as me and she has her whole left ovary and tube taken out, and is about to have her right one taken out soon.Comment
