Do you live with another woman or work with women?
My period started coming at different times when I had a female roommate. It changed so that we had our periods at the same time. It seems weird but it happens with close friends, roommates and even women who work together. There was a study done by researcher Martha McClintock in the 1970's. She called it "synchronous menstruation." -
I really suck at checking back on old threads...Hehe
I thought it was common knowledge because all my girlfriends talked about it like it was. But once I started looking up other info there is a lot of stuff out there than says its just a myth and there are other factors to why two people have their periods near each others.
However I still think that it has something to do with hormone levels or pheromones or something because one of my friends (Andrea) lived with a different friend (Betty) they started having the same cycle. Betty was on birth control but Andrea wasn't and for the first time in years Andrea had normal periods that lined up with Betty's. I don't know what else it could have been but some kind of hormonal sync that happened from living together.Comment
