    i really need your help

I was due on my period yesterday, then late afternoon I got a stomach ache as usual! Went to the loo, had a wee but this time it hurt so i assumed i had cystitis! took one of the sachet things for cystitis and my wee kept continuing to hurt! Drank some water then after resisiting the urge to have a wee immediately i waited. Finally went and even with a tampon in there was blood when i wiped

Im ****ing blood! so not only am I a day late for my period and have the slight possibility of being pregnant...I have blood coming out of the wrong bit

I'm terrified I really am, Im only 17 and I dont have a clue how to deal with these sorts of things

I know you might hate hearing this, because i know I would. I'd rather someone just stell me WHAT it actually is, but....go see a doctor. They can tell you what it is and give you something for it. Don't freak out about your period though just yet. I've been up to almost two weeks late before, freaking out that I was pregnant, even bought tests multiple times even when they said they were negative. I'm 20 years old and I never know when exactly to pinpoint the exact day I'll start. Late periods can be the cause of stress or other things. But about the pee in the blodd...that sounds serious. I was thinking UTI but, UTI comes on a little slower than a day and gradually gets worse. At least from my experience. I hope this helps!
Not being in control is a real #%$*, ain't it!

I also would say first things first, go see your doc about the blood. I know it can take time to get an appointment and such but it is really worth it. Even if it goes away and you don't find out why right away it is a very good thing to build history with your doc.
I am 24 and have always had fairly irregular periods, I believe mostly because of stress. It does crazy things to your body. If there is something else going on, like a uti or possibly kidney stones (I had them recently, never bled but my stone wasn't that big and bleeding is comon with stones) it is possible that the stress from that has delayed your period.
Please don't freak out too much, see your doc. it is the best place to start.

i'm 39, had bunches of uti (urinary tract infections)........ and most of the time it comes out with your pee. if you do have one, you need antibiotics. drink lots of water and cranberry juice or pills.
as for the pregnancy thing, get a test....or see a dr.

              Blood In Urine

Hi - i agree with the other ladies ...this really does sound like a urinary tract infection ...i know exactly the worry your experiencing i had two years of dealing with this ...

Firstly ...i would make an appointment with the dr ASAP its so important with a UTI that you get this treated as soon as possible in fact delaying it for just even 24 hours you can get significantly "sicker" feeling shakey, even vomiting running a temp ect especially if you get to the point that you are bleeding from the urethra as you say you seem to be . Dont be scared ...you will be fine it can sometimes appear that you are bleeding from where you are peeing from ...when actually the urine has just turned very dark colour a sure sign is ..its clouded and has an "unusual" strong or chemical sort of smell . You say that you had a tampon inserted at the time that you urinated so im assuming that you HAD started your period??? if a bit of blood had leaked around the tampon or was around the outside of the vagina it could have just mingled with the urine and looked like you were bleeding from the urethra !! dont panic ...id just go straight to the dr tomorrow or if you are posting from England explain to the receptionist it is an emergency as you think you have quite a bad UTI and you need to get treatment the dr will test your water in the surgery if you havent got one of those little strile water sample bottles you can ask for at any pharmacy he will give you the bottle there and you can nip to the loo and do the sample in the surgery !!...its really important you get the antibiotics as soon as poss to clear this up . At the same time you can have a little chat about your pregnancy worries ...One other thing PLEASE dont mind me bringing this up but it is important ...have you been tested just in case for any possible STI infection ? the one im thinking of is Chlamydia ...because chlamydia can just look like a bad water infection just the same as cystitis !!! it can also just look like thrush or a yeast infection ...please if you havent been tested recently OR if you have a new sexual partner i would ask the dr if you can get this test done , the well woman nurse in you surgery will give you a little bottle to pee into and they will send it off to be tested....the well woman nurse is lovely and she will also help to put your mind at rest . Its just important to remember, just if it was a possibility that you might have cought it that a normal water test would just show you had a water infection if the dr did this in the surgery BUT not if you had an sti ...that sample must get sent off be be tested in a different way ..dont be scared or worried about my mention of sti or chlamydia ...i had chlamydia a year or so back and im nearly 40 years of age ...people of all ages if fact anyone can catch it ...if it is treated as soon as possible i mean you get it early you will be absolutely fine !! i promise you . but it is important to test especially if you think you may be pregnant .... just to summerize ...please see your dr as soon as possible to get antibiotics - i really would mention a check for chlamydia if you havent been tested...and you can have that chat about pregnancy worries ....and drink as many glasses of plain water (not tea or coffee) as you can so you get to the point your urine is very light or near the same colour as the glass of water also that will help when you pee it will be less painful and help flush out bacteria ....good luck and hope you feel better soon x Katty
