    Anyone who has advice

I'm 16 years old and I've been having trouble since I've been thirteen with my periods. When I was thirteen I woke up in the middle of the night not being able to move. I was sent to the hospital. They did a gyn and an x-ray and come to find out it was a cyst growing near my appendix. So I just stayed in the hospital until I was done with the medication (until the cyst popped) b/c I did not want to get surgery. So any way thats when all my trouble started. From that point on I always have irregular periods. My horomones started acting up on at a young age and I decided not to take birth control. I figured that wold just make matters worst. Now it's just getting worst b/c once again I didn't get my period again this month and the problem is, is that I still get real bad cramps and I get so tired that I feel like I'm going to pass out. For example, I got really bad headache today when watching a movie in school so I went to the nurse to get tylenol but my mother didn't pick up the phone to give the nurse permission to give me the tylenol so she said I could go lay down. 50 mins later the nurse came in and it took her 5 mins to wake me up and that was the last peiod of the day so I went home. When I stood up I completely forgot everything that happened and I didn't no were to go so the nurse had to help me find my way. My headaches can get so bad I start to cry sometimes (for example, on Easter). Even when I went the bathroom today, when I was done it felt like I still had to go the bathroom. I don't want to sound melo-dramatic but whatever this is, is just starting to hurt and make me weak. If anyone could give me advice it would be great. Thanks

Hey, Pink. Sounds tough. It was always a problem for me in high school when I got cramps because they were so painful I would sometimes faint.
I would strongly urge you make an appt. with your Dr. considering you were previously hospitalized for your cyst.

      Hey Pink19

I use to have really bad period pain in my teens. And everytime I had my period, I use to pass out whether it be at home or at school. I was always on period pain tablets and than a few years ago, my doctor adviced me to start taking the pill to make my cycle more stable. Now I am married and 24, with the pill I use to still get pain but for the last few months, I've started having multi-vitamin tablets with herbal contents in it which have helped me so much. Even with the monthly pimple breakouts I use to get. Taking better care of my health has helped me.

Your period shouldn't just stop without a reason. With what you have gone through, the best advice is go to your doctor and talk to them about it. They will help come up with some solutions that best suit you.

        Thanks

First off thanks al lot for the advice (it did help). Everyone says that I should go to the doctors but I can't go on the pill so do you have any idea what they'll say to me or an idea on what medication they'll tell me to take. I tried going once they gave me medication and it only made my stomche worst and I was throwing up all night. It's just as if I go to the doctors they do x-rays then a gyn and then give me medication that just makes me sick. Buts thank you both for the advice.

As 'little-lessons' said, Muli-vitamin tables DO help A LOT!! You won't notice anything if you take them only when you get cramps.. You're supposed to take one a day, or something, depending on what kind of vitamins you get, what your doctor says, etc.. But I've been taking them for almost a year now and my cramps aren't as bad anymore.. Most of the time I don't even get cramps now. Also, be sure to eat a banana every once in a while, or just anything with a lot of potassium. This helps too.

            Thanks!

Are these vitamins over the counter or can you get them off the shelf in the drug store? Thank you so much for the advice. Do banana really work? lol

You should be able to get multi vitamins in most supermarkets.
Is birth control the only option your doctor talked about? That surprises me. I've had really painful periods since I started and I've used so many different painkillers and painkiller/vitamin combinations and birth control was only talked about as a last resort..

                Yes ma'am, you're very much welcome :]
And yes, bananas really do work. But like I stated earlier, nothing's gonna happen if you just eat a banana right when it starts hurting.. Period or not; Try to eat them regularly. If you can everyday, that's great. I eat 'em like.. Once or twice a week.. They're alright. Sometimes I get tired of eating them like that so I cut one up, toss it in the blender with some strawberries and milk [and a bit of sugar and perhaps some crushed ice] and I make myself a strawberry-banana smoothie. Hah, I'm drinking one right now, as I type this :P But yes, they really do help cause of all the potassium in them. And the multi-vitamins, they dont have to be over-the-counter. Just get something with plenty of calcium, potassium, etc [MULTI-vitamins] and take one a day or one every other day. They shouldn't be too expensive at all. Well, I'll let you go now. I'm a mind reader. I know how much you wish you had this amazing smoothie, and I know how much you're craving it. I'll let you go so you can make yourself one haha
                Have a great one!!
