Discharge after using tea tree oil for yeast infection
A few weeks ago, I noticed that I was feeling very uncomfortable (itchy and gross) & that my vagina was red and had some discharge. It didn't have an odor but it felt like a yeast infection. I used a 1 day treatment and it cleared up, only to come back a couple of days later. Then I used a 7 day treatment and it didn't improve anything. My main symptoms are that my area is red, swollen, and itchy. Any discharge I have is mild and has never had an odor. After doing some research, I decided to try tea tree oil last night. Today it seemed like it had cleared up. It itched a couple of times today, but the redness and swelling had completely gone away (as had any discharge). Well I just noticed some white flecks and a small amount of discharge, but I have no other symptoms. Is this normal to have some discharge? I know that I don't have BV and my doc couldn't see me today. I just really want this to be gone & I can't remember what's normal anymore. -
It doesn't sound like BV anyway. When I had BV I had no symptoms except odor.
It sounds exactly like a yeast infection and perhaps it's bad enough the otc treatments just aren't ridding of it. Call the doc and ask them to call you in some diflucan. They will usually call in 2 pills, which you take 2-3 days apart. Don't let it go on too long...if it's a yeast infection, it will only get worse.
