Yeast infection? Bacterial infection? Please help...

So for the past couple of months I've had clumpy, abnormal discharge. There was no pain or itching so I just brushed it off. This week I finally decided to go get it checked out at my college's health center because nothing was changing. The doctor swabbed and looked under a microscope and said there was no yeast, but a lot of white blood cells so it was an infection of some sort. We tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia just and case and both turned up negitive. She put me on doxycycline for 10 days and said it would definatly clear it up.

I'm 8 days into the prescription and nothing has changed for the better. In fact now I have inflammation and a lot of redness near my clit and the opening of my vagaina.

Could the infection have turn into a yeast infection because of the antibiotics? I've been taking a probiotic along with it. The doctor was so confident that the doxycycline would cure me, so we didn't schedule a follow up or anything. I don't know what to do.

Any advice/help would be very appreciated.

Call the doctor with your complaint and ask to get an appointment as soon as possible. Finish the doxycycline schedule as prescribed by your doctor.

I'd get a diflucan from the doctor just in case.

It's possible that the antibiotics have disrupted your vaginal microbiota, which can sometimes lead to a yeast infection. This can happen when antibiotics kill off both harmful and beneficial bacteria. To alleviate your symptoms, consider using over-the-counter antifungal treatments for yeast infections. However, it's essential to consult your healthcare provider to confirm the diagnosis and discuss any concerns or new symptoms, especially if the issue persists or worsens. They may recommend a different course of action or treatment.
