I had a TL 6 years ago..If I'd have known then what I know now about them, I wouldn't have had it done. I've been a hormonal mess since having it done. read up on Post Tubal Syndrome..Comment

MrsSanders,
I had a tubal in 97 and decided to try and tried to have it reversed in 2003, however when the RE went in to take a look there just was not enough tube for him to work with and what was left was removed. I was then told that my only option of concieving another child (I have 3) was to do IVF. Tubal ligations are for the most part 100% when it comes to preventing pregnancy, and almost impossible to reverse and even if you have your tubes put back together in a reversal, it is a 50/50 chance you will concieve.
I too regret my tubal and wish I never would have had it done, but at the time I was so sure I was finished having children at the age of 27.
I've now moved on to the world of IVF, but I wish you good luck.Comment

Think long and hard before you do it
I had a tubal about 10 years ago. The usual reasons, sick of the daily pill and sick of worring when a pill was missed or late. I also did it because i was in a crappy marriage and didn't want the chance of having more kids with the bozo. Needless to say, I divorced him after 17 years, met a great guy, and would love nothing more then to have a child with him (HE'S A KEEPER!!) I researched tubal reversal but it's expensive and of course there's always a chance it won't be successful.
I thought all my reasons were good ones to have the tubal in the first place and at the time they were. But you never know where you're path will lead and you may regret it as i do. Every day I think about what a mistake I made.
Good luck with you decision.Comment
