Men's input
Hi everyone. I stumbled across this website and am finding it fascinating. We can all learn from each other. Do you (mostly) ladies mind the guys here giving their opinions? -
I equally respect and value the opinions of both. In fact, some times I need the advice, or the point of view, of a man more than a woman as this helps me see certain problems "from the other side". Besides, the majority of issues here can be experienced by both genders, so it's more about the person who answers, than whether it's a man or a woman.
Also, I think it takes a lot of "guts" and confidence for a man to join a women's forum. Unfortunately we don't have as many men here as we should.Comment

thanks. I have got a lot of guts, or, simply that I have proved my masculinity several times over and therefore don't need to prove anything. I used to be a sperm donor so, with my two children, Girl 20 and Boy 25, I have done it all. But I am grateful that you are comfortable with me. I already can see that a lot of people here are very open, just like me. Perhaps the problems some of us have are to do with our partners not being as open as us sometimes??Comment

I appreciate hearing various opinions and what some men have to say on certain topics. I am sure to take it all with a grain of salt and not take one man's opinion as 'how all guys must think' but its always nice to hear some of the various perspectives men have on some women issues and to be able to provide some female insight when they have questions or need support as well.Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.Comment

It's a bit like suddenly having a lot of older, and younger, sisters to communicate with. It's really nice !!! I'm not at all effeminate, quite the contrary, but have always felt comfortable with a lot of women. They have never hurt me. I was abused as a boy by a man. Long time ago, and no point dwelling on it now. Have got over it ages ago, but still in my subconcious I feel safer with women.Having said that, my best friend is my son.Comment

I love hearing a man's perspective and this forum does, indeed, seem very open and honest in its opinions.
But Thomas, I agree with you~~being able to be open and honest with your lover is the key (I believe) to a great sexual relationship. And I learned this the hard way!!
Depending upon whom you are with and what your comfort level is with that person, you can either suffer quietly in silence while needs aren't being met, or you can open yourself up to a fantastic, fun, open relationship where almost anything goes and needs/fantasies can be discussed and acted upon.
But it's a unique combination of chemistry, trust, similar mindsets, etc., that will get you to that point. I don't believe it can happen in all relationships.Comment

Communication problems are the most common ones in relationships. We may think we are open and our partner is not, but some times we are equally "closed" as our partner and we don't realize it. It's not easy to always say or do the right thing, even with someone you have been with for many years. There's always room for improvement and new ideas.
We're happy to have you here!Comment
