    Vaginal Tearing/Fissures and Sex?

Unfortunately, the last time I had sex there was a bit of spotting afterwards and a stinging sensation. After looking, there is a tiny cut on the bottom of my vagina, where the labia meet. Initially I thought it might have been an accidental nail scratch, but after thinking it through I remember a slight pinch sensation during intercourse that I hadn't had before.

I have read that these small tears are common when sex is particularly rough, when there isn't enough lubrication, or in women who have given birth. No we weren't being very gentle, but I was very aroused and we used a lubricated comdom. And I and in my early twenties with no children.

Is there any way to prevent them in the future? The only advice I have been finding is to avoid sex until it heals (of course), special creams, and some people who have chronic tears have gone to such lengths to actually have surgery to correct scar tissue.

Kind of freaking me out and my partner, who is worried he hurt me. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Does the lubrication go all the way up on the condom including the rubber roll at the top and is there enough lubrication even with the wiping action of the roll? The easy answer is to use more lubrication or don't penetrate as deep or as hard. I wonder if pubic hairs could cause problems. Maybe someone else knows.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

I would suggest using a lube (pick up some AstroGlide or KY), even if you feel you are wet enough, just to try it out. Also, is it possible that you have some irritation towards the condom? That maybe that is what is actually irritating you, then the rough sex is just helping the irritation along?

Thank you both for your replies. Extra lubrication would probably be a good place to start, will definiately do that next time.

I guess I'm just wondering if any other women have had this problem? Its just weird because sometimes sex feels really tight around the outside, but he's not exceptionally large or wide. Everything else goes smoothly, but the lubricant may help with that problem. I hope.

I wouldn't worry at all, if it's just one tiny tear it should heal quickly (do abstain from sex for a couple of days or so to speed the process up!).

I've never had sex without being properly "ready" for it if you know what I mean, but even so I sometimes get small tears. I don't do anything about it, they are tiny enough to not bother me.

Does baby oil actually work? Is it comfortable and can you use any baby oil, every lubrication that my boyfriend and me use leaves us both sticky and irritated, which doesn't help as i get small tears to, after my boyfriend and me have sex we always use baby wipes to 'clean up' and there is always some blood on mine. Although it's not alot it still worries me and stings ALOT.
I feel wet enough, if anything i feel more wet than i need to when we have sex, we just usually enjoy applying the lube to eachother, even when doing this the past tears sting a little :S

                Same problem

I have had the same problem for many years. I'm also young but you still need to apply more lubrication during sex and continue to add so when it starts to feel as if it tugging a little.

However, to fix this problem I have found that rubbing unrefined organic coconut oil on the spot that tears and all around the opening of the vagina after I shower, seems to help incredibly! Try it out! I hope it helps

Baby oil...of any kind is bad for the vagina! It says for external use right on the bottle. Use a natural oil like Extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil and even almond oil.
