Maybe he just prefers to have his arms around you and holding you close when that moment arrives. I know I tend to feel that way.
And guys, except in fairly rare circumstances, only have one shot at having a magical evening.

I know some women are the same way, they'd just rather do other things and move on to the main event.
That could be the case.

Or he's not comfortable with just lying back and letting another please him. It can be awkward for some people. Or if it doesn't feel good to him, maybe he's afraid to hurt feelings. Best to talk with him and find out what it is, we can just guess.

As stated above, it sounds like a communication issue more than anything. Though I can relate to him too, as I'd always rather GIVE then receive and some men have difficulty strictly receiving pleasure. We see it as selfish, whether you offer or we ask for it. So communicate with him and try and find out what his real hangups are about being on the receivng only end of things.
