There is really nothing to lose. If he says no and things ended then maybe he's using you. But you never know, something can come of it. You're obviously very comfortable with each other. I have friends with benefits and I ended up seriously dating one for about a year after just sleeping together for 4 months -
To me this comment screams booty call. I think the "he would ask you out" comment is something to keep you hanging around. So,I was in a relationship with a guy for about a year.
& when we finally broke up, I immediately starting "seeing"
this other guy but with intentions of pure sexual relief.
obviously thats how it started. just as fun. but it's been going on for about 10
months now. We have alot in common & he even says that he WOULD ask me out
but i dont know whats stopping him. The only time we talk is when HE decides
we should hang out. & then i wont hear from him for like a week. It's a cycle.
I really like him but I dont know if i should tell him.

I'm not sure that the whole FWB thing is sustainable. Sex is best when passion is involved and it's easy for that passion to grow in one partner while the other partner does not share such emotional attachment. Unless there is more to this story than you are telling us, I can't see any reason why he would not have asked you out or called more frequently if his interest went beyond the mere FWB. Feel free to tell him you want more from the relationship, but prepare yourself for disappointment. If he wanted that, he could have already initiated it. If the answwer goes the way I think it will, move on and find yourself someone who can love an appreciate you.Comment

Rules of Friends with Benefits:
Rule #1 - It's not fair to change the rules after you start!
When you have an agreement with someone, no matter how it plays out, you started with an understanding of how it was going to work. Whether you talked about it point blank or let the actions speak for themselves, this was an understanding. It's not really fair to change it up after 10 months. In my opinion that's not really fair to the other person.
It's simply put that if he had wanted to cross that line and ask you out, then he would have. If he hasn't, then he does not. Apparently this arrangement that you two agreed on works just fine for him. I wouldn't say anything unless you are willing to let go of the arrangement you have now in the event that it gets awkward after you say something.
Best of luck

I think you should tell him because the longer you wait the more attached you become. How are you towards him when you are together? Do you ever say things that would hint to him that you are interested in the possibility of more than just FWB? Maybe he thinks that's all you want so he is trying to maintain the FWB in case you aren't open to more than that. What it boils down to is you are never going to know unless you ask.Comment

You can't get into this just for sex and 10 months later expect him to ask you out. You either tell him "I want more now, I don't want just sex anymore, how about you?", or you end it. I don't see why he is to blame for not taking the next step when you've already made it clear to him from the beginning you just want him for sex. Even if he would want more, he wouldn't ask you out because of the arrangement.Comment

Sounds like that's the hook he keeps throwing out so he can continue to be with you. You would think that if he wanted to be BF and GF,he would have proposed that a long time ago. Unless he was worried that you didn't want to be in a relationship which would put the sex in jeopardy. Of course it wasn't worth risking the sex. He's not controlling. It just bothers me that he says we should be more emotionally connected
but after a night spent together he doesn't talk to me for a while?
this has happened EVERY single time. & i always fall for it.
Last time i hung out with him was 2 days ago. & i dont know if i should wait till next
time to tell him i dont wanna have sex anymore i want a relationship, or tell him right now?
thanks soooo much,(:
What you really need to find out is whether he's going out and trying to pick up girls to be his girlfriend while you are sitting in the bullpen awaiting the call. If that is the case then you really need to move on. If he is just looking for somebody to hang out with on a nightly basis and not looking for a GF and you are still ok with the setup then stay in the relationship until you are ready to move on. But honestly from what I have seen and my expierences these relationships usually don't ever take any kind of serious turn.Comment
