    Swollen and bruised labia

Yesturday I was at my girlfriend's house (both girls, both 16) and we were touching each other and her nail hit the blood vessel on the outside of my labia minora and it began to swell up and bleed. I went to the doctor and they said it's a common thing haha and that I should just take painkillers and put ice on it to stop the swelling. It's been a day and the swelling's slowly going down but I still can't sit properly. The whole of the left side of my labia minora has swelled up. Does anyone know how long it will take to get better? I'm a dancer and I have to take time off if it doesn't heal within the next few days? And does nayone know what I could do to help it, or should I just keep sitting on ice?

Just leave the ice on it, thats a tender area and it takes a bit for it to heal up..

Ibuprofen is the generic name for Advil. Ibuprofen helps reduce swelling. You might consider taking some, according to the directions on the bottle. It might help.

I had the same sort of issue after I had sex. I was swollen and hurt and a little raw. It hurt to walk and sit for a while, but the swelling went down after about four days. Ib profen is definitely your friend
