I just finished watching a program on human sexuality on the Discovery Channel. One of the topics discussed was how smell impacts male-female attraction. Although they never discussed it (perhaps too intimate) I’m wondering how your partner reacts to the odor of your vagina. My husband gets hard instantly when he goes down on me and says he loves my smell. He has even taken some of my underwear along on long business trips when we can’t have sex for a week or so. Have any of you had similar experiences?

The odor of a SO can tell a person a lot about them. I could tell when my wife was going to have her period due to a certain odor to her skin on the day before. Now she has gone through menopause, so I no longer get that clue.

I am very scent oriented. Very.
Usually the first sign that I have lost the "connection" with a man is that I will find his smell repells me. I really dislike artificial scent and this is part of it. When I am into a man, his natural scent is an aphrodisiac.

Whew! Thought I was a little crazy.... So some of us are in agreement that people do have a smell ? Is it also hard for some of you to describe what that smell smells like? You just know, as their partner, that it's there, right?

Everyone has a smell. I think you know you've found your mate when you love their scent. I know my fiance's smell and though I can't really "smell" myself he tells me all the time that he loves the way I smell too.

As for "down there" I know that my smell changes depending on how my diet has been. For instance, lots of garlic tends to make me smell not so good and more like an Italian diner. I personally dislike the way I smell any day of the week but my fiance, when it's normal, will tell me it's amazing and it really turns him on to be down there.

On the other hand, when I'm down there on him and nuzzling in his lap I can smell his manly odor even through his pants and it drives me crazy. I don't have much experience and I don't really know if all guys smell the same down there but I love it.

this is so interesting. I love love love the general smell of my boyfriend, but i don't like the smell of his manhood all that much. This might be because i'm young, though, and it will grow to be something i'm used to and come to love into the future. i don't know. but i just kind of realised something... my boyfriend can't smell, and i know that he enjoys performing oral on me, but he never gets turned on by it. He says its because he's too focused on what he's doing to be aroused, but maybe it might have something to do with the fact that he's not getting the full experience (for lack of a better phrase)?
