My boyfriend and I were having sex last night and during I felt a horrible pain in my lower abdomen, bellow my belly button but above my vagina. A very bad internal pain. The only way I can think to describe it was he went too deep and it struck some type of horrible nerve! We were both diagnosed with chlamydia a while back, and have been treated twice now. I was recently tested again and my results were negative. Could this pain be a long term effect of having the chlamydia? Pelvic Inflammatory Disease? Ovarian Cysts? I'm nervous and don't want to go back to my Gyno for the 4th time within the past 8 months. Any ideas of what this pain could be or whats been causing it?

Are you using condoms. Because you both have been diagnosed you could be cross contaminating each other.

In women, chlamydia infection is usually completely silent, so they are unaware that they have it – 80% of women with chlamydia have no symptoms at all. Some women notice a slightly increased discharge, or slight bleeding between periods or after sex. If it has reached the Fallopian tubes , it can cause pain in the lower part of the abdomen (tummy).
If it is the Fallopian tubes it could cause sterility.

Not something you want to fool around with.

Is it possible he hit your cervix? Maybe you weren't as ready for sex as at other times or maybe he used a slightly different position.

I'm so sorry to hear about your experience with painful intercourse, I've been there, and it is not fun! I wanted to share a few things in case it may be beneficial to you. Vulvodynia is the most frequent cause of painful intercourse, a recent study found that 25% of women had experienced vulvodynia at some point in their lives. Whatever the cause may be, it is always a good idea for both partners to check with their doctor to be sure it isn't an STD, or some other problem.
