Sex during period?
Ok so here is my situation. I have been with my boyfriend for over a month, we recently started having sex, and he is the only guy that I have been intimate with. I just started my period and I guess I just am not sure how to tell him. I am sure I am making a bigger deal out of it than I should, but I don't know how he will react. I don't want to be in the middle of making out and then be like, by the way its my time of the month. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or am I making a bigger deal out of it than I should? -
Well, he has to realize that it has to come some time or another. I don't think it's anything to be embarassed about. It's a part of life and he should be educated about it. I would probably drop some hints ahead of time, before you actually get into it. You can just say something like "We might have to wait a couple days before we have sex again, because I have my girl thing" Some guys are weird when you use grown-up words such as "period" or "menstration". (I think it shows a lack of maturity if they can't bare to hear those god awful words *insert sarcasm here*). Hope that helps! -
Do you want to engage in sexual activity while having your period? You can have sex during your period. If you don't like the sound of that, there are many other things you can do that is not intercourse. If this is the case, you can tell him during your make out session and say you can't have intercourse, but you are open to doing other stuff. With my husband, I tell him if he starts getting a little touchy so he knows the limits of what we will do should things progress. Also remember, not all kissing sessions lead to sex, regardless of if you have your period or not.Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose - Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster (sung by Janis Joplin)Comment

I know what you're going thru. My bf is my first, and I felt a little awkward at first talking about anything to do with my body. I found out it wasn't so bad after I just spit it out for the first time. As lizzardb63 said, he may not want to hear certain words, men can be weird like that. I've found using "my monthly" is a comfortable enough phrase for my guy. And yes, sex is possible during your period, if you feel up to it. I just can't seem to wait 4-5 days without, so I've always had sex on my period.(Even though blood grosses my bf out. We just keep the lights out :P)Comment

If you do decide to have sex while on your period (some guys don't like it, some don't care either way), definately put a towel underneath you because it may get a little messy. What I found to work great is having sex in the shower while I am on my period. No mess and quick cleanup! Plus...it's fun

It may be a "lack of maturity," as you say, or it could simply be a lack of knowledge and experience, which is pretty likely at Ishka's age, don't you think? If y'all discuss it calmly, and ahead of time, I think you'll find he won't be grossed-out, and you may find it's a great deal of fun. This is certainly one time when it's highly unlikely you'd get pregnant, so you might be able to shal we say, "vary your b/c methods..."Well, he has to realize that it has to come some time or another. DO NOT have unprotected sex at any time, even on your period, because you still CAN get pregnant. Use a reliable form of birth control, no matter what time of the month it is. Not every woman ovulates at the same time and you don't want to risk anything, especially if you're still rather young or not ready for a baby. There is no sense in risking it.It may be a "lack of maturity," as you say, or it could simply be a lack of knowledge and experience, which is pretty likely at Ishka's age, don't you think?
