Possibly, it's different for each person. Also the amount to foreplay makes a huge difference.

At your very first time having sex, your hymen breaks. This can hurt and also bleed. For some girls it is very painful in the beginning. Some say they barely felt something. It is very different and depends on how much lubrication is there, if you are relaxed or a bit scared... But this is nothing dangerous. It should stop hurting after a few times.

My personal experience was painful, not unbareable, but painful.
Go slowly, and enjoy the moment cause its gone way to quickly.

I agree, the first time I had sex with a girl it lasted about a moment.

It completely depends on several factors. You have to go slow. The slower the better and the less painful it could be.

It depends on his size...if he's well endowed it may hurt more than those who are a bit smaller.

It depends on how wet you are. The wetter the better. If you're dry it might hurt from the friction.

Not all girls have a hymen to break when they have sex the first time. Sometimes it breaks before you have sex from injuries or wearing tampons.

If you just take it slow, it should all be fine.

It depends on your body and the person you are with. If the person handles you with care and knows what they are doing the discomfort should be minimal. I always say to wait because it's a gift you can never give again and something that will never end..lol I was once told that once you have sex you will never stop but it seems thats because you are only a virgin once. so becareful who you give that honor to. Always Always play it safe and make sure that the person respects you and loves you (it makes a difference)

                Beautifully put Ahyrin!

                Personal experience:
I didnt have pain from insertion or blood. It was not at all enjoyable, nor was it romantic, nor was it to the right person. I was with him for a year he was two years older and i gave in. Make sure it is the person you want to be with for the rest of your life. That you love him and feel safe with him. If i could take one action back, one out of my whole life i would take that night that one decision. I gave what could have been a magical special moment to a complete a-hole- ( a-hole lot of bad choices lol) My husband and i share many first's together but that first will never be his. I was his first, and he wasn't mine.

And it total depends on how ready for sex your body, mind and how ready your partner is. If one of those factors are not ready then your not ready.

That's a really thoughtful and caring post, it's a shame you look back like that and wish you could change something so significant for the man you love, the fact that you want to makes him a rather lucky man.

If you hadn't made those (bad) decisions things may never have quite worked out with your husband, you may have dumped A-hole, met someone else, stayed with him for a few years and your potential husband could have met someone, had that not happened he butterfly effect could have prevented you meeting him! Sometimes bad things precipitate good things. Your both lucky to have each other, so don't forget that. If you don't mind me asking, does the disparity in previous experience and partners concern him?

I hope the 'previous partners' thing is not an issue for your husband, for a lot of men it's not, for others it's a mighty big one.

I don't remember the earth moving when I lost my virginity. The girl I lost it to was a real crazy one but I never regretted giving it to her (I did like her though I wouldn't tolerate behavior like hers now), by 19 (the age I first had sex) I had more of an 'I just want to get rid of it' attitude, not to mention a hellacious sex drive largely deriving from years of sexual frustration. I think many young men - and I was definitely included here - act like such tools around girls simply because their slaves to their libidos, yet at that age lack social skills and confidence, subsequently finding themselves outgunned by girls their own ages and wondering why girls around them are going for older men!

Precluding men with religious beliefs (whom I do respect) I've never met any men who consider saving their virginity or giving it to the right person important. I think men and women tend to approach this quite differently since the experience can differ greatly from what I've heard. A man losing his virginity to a more experienced woman is going to be a rather brief affair and not particularly satisfying for the woman, at least that's how mine was. Reverse the roles and a more experienced man having sex with a girl who's a virgin and a lot more thought and consideration is going to need to be shown to prevent discomfort, I also think a woman, like yourself is much more likely to regret the decision and find it harder to accept if she feels it was a mistake than a man will, for the reasons I mentioned above.

You are probably right buddhaboy, Leaving the A- hole was what set the wheels in motion and lead me to my husband. I do believe that if i left him earlier or later or for other reasons i wouldnt have had the feeling that drove me to better my life.
And no my husband has never held anything against me for my past sex life. I just look back and wish that i could have shared that experience with him. My ex was hurtful, emotional and physically abusive in the end. And i hate that he had control over everything i did and my choices. I think after i had sex with him is when he must have realized he could control me :P
