i joined this board tonight in search of support re: sexual health. i'll be searching other parts of this site, too, no doubt
it seems to be a very active group of girls. i look forward to being part of your group.
i'm 32 years old and i've been having a specific problem lately - sex is extremely uncomfortable for me. it's super important to note that this has NEVER (and i mean NEVER) been a problem for me before. i've been married now for nearly ten years and have a strong bond with my husband.
lately...i can't even explain it. i don't know where to start. i want to have sex. my brain is there - completely. but i can't do it - my body is simply not responding at all. i'm not sure how graphic i can get in this forum...so i'lll try to keep it as clean as possible.
i don't get..lubricated at all, if you know what i mean. i remain completely dry inside and the friction is so awful..it's an absolutely disgusting feeling..it reminds me of nails on a chalkboard.
my husband says he doesn't feel a difference at all. i think he'd be the type to tell me the truth so i can assume that he means it when he tells me he doesn't find that i feel strange inside.
this is so devastating for me. i have no idea where it came from, what caused it, or how on earth to fix it. i've tried various lubricated jellies and it does absolutely nothing. i don't understand...my brain is completely into it but my body literally stops. i tell him i need to stop because it feels so disgusting...and i come away from it crying and embarrassed, even though i know he would never shame me.
i don't know what to do. like i've said a few times now - i'm mentally into it. i don't know if it would be any use to use any form of sex aid because i'm already ready to go, mood wise. i just can't do it.
for a while i thought, well, maybe i should just deal with it and let him finish so at least he gets something out of it but i literally cannot force myself, the feeling is so awful.
has anyone ever experienced this before? i don't know how long this will last or if it's a permanent thing..i just don't know what to think. i don't have many health concerns - i do have hypothyroidism, which is currently acting up. i've been taking synthroid to keep it at bay now for about 6 years. i had my tsh done in august and it was 29, which is considerably elevated, meaning my thyroid was extremely underactive. i've just had it retested and it is down to 7, but it needs to be down around the 3-4 mark before it is under control. i have no idea if this is related or not. the only other health concern i have is a history of depression, which has been under control for quite some time now. it's not a concern in my life at all.
if anyone has any advice, please help me.
