    Boyfriends penis

    Hi

Me and my boyfriend have only been going out a few weeks. His penis is different to others I've seen before.

He's uncircumcised (like most men in the UK) but when he gets an erection his foreskin doesn't retract below the head of his penis. I don't mind, but I'm just wondering if this is normal or if it means he has an STD or anything haha.

Has anybody ever seen anything like this before? Thankyou xx

I've heard of this happening with some men and is a big reason some men end up getting circumsized later in life. I would think it would interfere with sensation but perhaps not.

No it doesn't mean he has any STDs just because his foreskin doesn't retract. A man could have STDs regardless of how his foreskin behaves or he could be totally clean. Also, foreskins don't necessarily have to retract upon erection either...Manuel Ferrera is probably the best example, lol.

He has a tight foreskin, be carful not to yank it too hard, it may be able to be worked back slowly with lubricant or during sex, though it may be so tight that pulling it back fully could make it split.

If he falls into the latter category he may HAVE to be circumcised in order to enjoy pain free sex.

It may be that he has phimosis, were the opening of his foreskin is too small and tight to allow the head of his penis to retract fully and comfortably. For a normal intact penis, retraction of the foreskin should cause no discomfort at all. But it can be treated without having to resort to circumcision. One of the more common treatments for phimosis is a combination therapy of steroid cream which needs to be applied to the penis and gentle stretching excercises to gradually loosen the foreskin and increase the size of the opening allowing it to retract normally.
Circumcision should only ever be considered as a last resort when all other treatment options have been explored.

I agree it should be a last resort. I have not heard of tight foreskin ever being cured/treated with a steroid cream, hopefully that will sort it out.
