Have I hit my sexual peak?
Hello! I am new to this forum, and very happy that I found it!!! I am 48 years old and I think (not entirely sure tho) I may have hit my sexual peak. It started about a week ago, I can't stop thinking about sex, want it literally every hour, and I've had to start wearing pads as I seem to be extremely wet all the time. I had a hysterectomy ten years ago. Plus sitting down during the day is very uncomfortable as it feels as if my vagina is constantly throbbing. I've never had this before in my life so I'm a little scared and not entirely sure what to think of it. Can anyone relate? Thank you so much!!

Also, I think peaking sexually is as much a state of mind as it is a physiological state. Feeling highly sexed is a good indication of your hormones being at a healthy level. Maybe you've just been relieved of stress and worry, or you have finished a course of medication, or something has simply elevated your mood?No matter how objective we try to be, we all see through our own eyes...Comment

I went through something very similar last June, a few months after I turned 47. I went from not even wanting my husband to touch me in any way, to thinking about and wanting sex all of the time. He was really suspicious too, believing I was trying to butter him up to get a puppy! My urges haven't left me but they have gotten a little tamer after 10 months. My abrupt turn around is how I found this forum - trying to find out if what I was going through was "normal". I don't think what you're going through is uncommon at all. I decided not to worry too much about it and just enjoy the ride, so to speak.

A friend of mine thinks it may have to do with the fact that I am in recovery from anorexia after suffering with it for over 30 years. She thinks my hormones are finally levelling off, and being off all the anti-depressents and other meds maybe too? It is so strange, as being stuck in the throws of anorexia I didn't even feel human, never mind feeling sexual. This just hit all of a sudden over the weekend.Comment

OP, I take it you didn't have your ovaries removed when you had your uterus removed. If you did, you would have went through menopause at that time. It could be your theory of getting off of medications. It could also be perimenopause which seems to kick up the sex drive of some women. Or a combination of both.I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

I went through something similar a few years ago. I think menopause started it so hormones
must have something to do with it. I was getting excited pretty much all the time and my
husband reacted the same way yours did! Thought I was acting for a purpose.
We change physically, we've had experience in life and discover ourselves as women after the
mom. This creates alot of sensations and adjustments in our lives and sex is one of them. Embrace
it and enjoy your womanhood rediscovered. We're still alive after 40!Comment
