    QUESTIONS!!!! please answer :)

    Hi everyone!!

I'm 18 and recently in a relationship... My boyfriend has been away for rugby for a month or so but I see him again in about 2 weeks.. YAY

Problem - I am due for my period the day before I see him??!! I am not on any form of contraceptive and therefore can't skip my period but I CANNOT have it in 2 weeks so was wondering if anyone has suggestions, i.e. maybe I could go on the pill now so that I don't get my period when I'm with him? Is there any way I can skip my period is basically what I'm asking.. I really want to be able to be intimate with him and I will want to die if I can't be (you could say I've missed him alot.. hahah)!

Secondly, I was on the pill (YAZ) a couple years ago but went off it because my period regulated itself. I have been prescribed "Loette" should I wish to start taking it again... but a friend of mine has one of those Birth Control Implant (Implanon and Nexplanon) and recommended it as it lasts for 3 years...? Advice is much appreciated!!

Thank you !! / PLEASE HELP ME

I would think trying to stop your period for such a reason would not be a wise decision. The decision of what to do would be influenced by the end results of a temporary situation that may not be the right one for a continuing situation.

Having sex during a woman's period is messy and there is the odor of blood. Additionally there is more lubrication. If a guy and a girl can get past those, there shouldn't be any problems unless there is cramping. A benefit would be that having sex during the first two days of a period is very unlikely to cause pregnancy.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Purposely messing with your period is not a good Idea.
I'm sure you miss him,but maybe just spending some cuddle time the first few days he's home, if you are on your period. Even give him oral, and if you just can't wait and absolutely need the Penetration , you can always use a Condom. That way he doesn't get all Messy.

Remember that you are going to have a period every month for years to come. You will have to plan around Nature, whether he's just returning from a Trip or not ..

You should tell him you most likely will be menstruating when he gets home, so he is prepared, also if you have no objection to intercourse while on the period, let him know that too. Then it will be his decision as to having intercourse or not . If it grosses him out, respect that and find other ways to please each other .

And get on some sort of Protection , you should be using Condoms if not on any BC pill. That is unless you want to get Pregnant and he agrees to become a father .

Even if you started taking the pill tomorrow, it probably wouldn't stop your period. Your body would just be confused. Rather than have your normal period for 3-7 days, you might instead have spotting for 3 weeks in a row!

I agree with everybody else - get comfortable with sex on your period. There's no reason why you should have to skip out on having sex during one week a month for most of your adult life. The same goes for your boyfriend. It's just a little blood.

Even if you do go on birth control right now, I do not think it will be in time to "stop" your period! Birth control differs for everyone, but it took mine a good couple of months to regulate/lighten my period.

Unless it completely grosses you guys out, there is nothing wrong with period sex! My fiance and I do it. I don't prefer it that way, but there is no harm. He is not grossed out by it. Sometimes periods are lighter on the first day, so maybe if your period does not actually come until the day you see your boyfriend, it might be light enough for you guys to go at it without too much of a mess =)
