    Vaginal bleeding after rough sex

    So me and my boyfriend had sex today rougher than usual (sorry for the detail but this could be the reason why). After we had sex, I went to the toilet and there was no bleeding, but after a few hours and we started messing around again, we both noticed I was bleeding a bit and we both got a bit worried. I went to the toilet twice, first time there was still blood, second time there wasn't. Not long ago I went again and there was blood again. I'm starting to get really worried!

    Some things that might help;
    • My period stopped properly yesterday and I'm on the contraceptive pill, and yesterday was when I was supposed to start taking it again.
    • There was no bleeding before I had sex (as if i was still slightly on my period).
    • It wasn't dry during sex so I don't think that could be the cause.
    • I'm 18 as is my boyfriend, I'm his first sexual partner and he's my second (my first was a virgin as was I) so i couldn't of caught an STI.

    What could the causes be? We're both really worried and as I'm 18 and still living with my mum, I don't really want to go to my doctors because I don't want to tell my mum (she knows i'm sexually active, I'd just feel awkward), and I don't want to try and go by myself or with my boyfriend cos some how she would find out and wonder why.

    The combination of rough sex and the fact that you were ending your period are most likely the cause of the bleeding. You may notice some blood tinged mucous for a couple of days, which is fairly normal. Most likely you will not see any blood after a couple of days have past.

      It was more like blood in mucous which worried me a bit more, but it is understandable. Thank you for your response and I will post again if this carries on after a few days.

        Also I forgot to add (won't let me edit my main post for some reason)

        When we started to mess around again, he tried to penetrate me and it was slightly painful and he really couldn't insert his penis into me. (As if there was nothing to go into o.O) which also worried me.
        Which is when he tried to finger me and we noticed I was bleeding. Just adding that in case this helps with the cause.

          It's tender inside a vagina, a fingernail can scrape it and break it open; causing blood. So that's most likely what happened. Which is why with rough sex there can be some bleeding. Keep yourself clean, refrain from any form of vaginal sex for a couple of days. If you're hurting, peeing burns, or anything else out of the ordinary; go get checked out. You don't want any kind of infection down there.
