My boyfriend is leaving the country soon and we want to sleep together again before he goes. Unfortunately I started my period today and he leaves in 5 days.
If I don't finish before then, do you have any tips for sex during ones period? Reccomended positions? How to do it cleanly? Times? How do guys feel about this? How do girls? We have never tried shower sex but perhaps that's a good option?

Shower first. Lay down a towel. Have kleenex, wipes on a nearby table.

There is a bit more lubrication during sex when the girl is on her period. There is also the scent of blood, although not too strongly. As a guy, it never bothered me.

It's not as messy as one would think. Well at least for me.
Just place a towel on the bed in order to not get the bed dirty. Then shower together afterwards.

I agree - it's not as messy as you think. Every partner I've ever slept with has had no problem having sex during my period.

It is not bad AT ALL!! Shower for freshness and allow the natural linrication to do the rest!

What everyone else said. Just lay a towel down, and especially if you are 5 days into your period it should be considerably lighter. Or, if he really isn't into the idea of it, you can have sex in the shower. That way any mess it automatically rinsed off.

I think guys' reactions depend mainly on how hung up they are on the concept of cleanliness. (Obviously your flow will affect that too.) The BF can't stay away in my case, so it's not an issue.

Hey y'all.. the OP announced her conundrum in May of last year. I'm pretty sure she and her boyfriend figured it out, one way or another!

Another tidbit of knowledge for those averse to bloody sex, is for the gal to use a menstrual cup. Unless you're going really crazy in the sack, or had it in for many hours, it won't leak (so no blood to worry about). And it doesn't reduce and feeling/sensation for either party during intercourse.

That being said, everyone's advice is still true today for other people seeking the same information, but I'm going to close this thread so focus can be put on active members' more current topics.
