    Orgasm problems.

I hope I have posted this in the right place :-)
    Here goes........
Im 42 years old and according to my GP...not in Menopause but not far away. I have noticed big (and not good) changes with my sexual responses over about the last 6 months.
I used to have great orgasms, alone or with a partner, but recently my O's have become really quite weak and disappointing and I can only have them when i'm flying solo. The build up is still there as normal but then all that I get is a little poof instead of the fireworks of past times.I'm struggling with this and finding it really frustrating, as my sexuality is an important thing to me and these days even after an orgasm I feel unsatisfied.
I'm wondering if this is just a normal part of ageing? Could it indicate a physical problem? Is it to do with Menopause? Have I gone mad? Has anyone else experienced this?
    I appreciate your feedback.
    Cheers :-)

You might want to speak to your GYN about this. Could be a hormone imbalance. I'm almost 60, and the fireworks are better than ever.

Anytime your hormones change you will have changes sexually. Try the progesterone cream sold at health food stores. I have not come close to going through the change but I have heard about it.

I'm 41 Chakra and I've noticed changes over the last few years too. I'm now divorced and not sexually active for ~ 3 yrs, but alone, it's much different. I'm not Premenopausal, and I've chalked it up to stress. I do think it's partly age related body changes but probably mostly stress for me.
If/when I get into another relationship, I'm a little curious what will happen.

          chakra --

Are you on any meds? Lots of them have sexual side effects, especially antidepressants.

I also suggest not trying so hard. Orgasms are as much emotional as they are physical. At this point, with the anxiety you are feeling, you are in a bad cycle. You anticipate an issue, which causes you to think about it and your anxiety destroys any chance of it happening. Try something new and different -- maybe a new type of toy, approach your clitoris with a new angle or use some visual stimulation. You can certainly orgasm -- my SO had her first at 44 (as I smile ......)
