    Pain During Sex

This may be TMI. Just as a warning.

Ok so I'm not a first timer, I've been having actual intercourse for 12 months now and I would say probably 50% of the times we have sex the, inner lips and the opening of my vagina hurt after sex, half way through sex and we have to stop, or when he first tries to go inside.

It's not a lubrication issue, I get plenty wet and we use lube as well - I'm not allergic or anything. Its not foreplay because we spend a lot of time on that too, he always kisses me and touches erogenous zones and ALWAYS does oral until I climax before penetration.

We don't use condoms, we're in a monogamous relationship and living together and he's been tested for stds. He's the only person I've been with. I'm on birth control pills.

We've tried different positions: me on top, him on top, spooning, from behind.. Everything! Sometimes it's fine but I've experience some form of pain for each of these positions at least once.

I don't think it has anything to do with a yeast infection as it's just pain during and after sex. There's no itching, no unusual discharge and no smell.

I'm not allergic to his cum as sometimes it hurts when he only uses his fingers.

I'm at a loss here, sometimes the sex is amazing and there's no pain what so ever and other times we do the exact same thing and it hurts.

The pain is kinda like a burn, it's not deep, just around the outsides. I don't want to have to go to the doctor if it's just something I can remedy myself. It's always worse just after that time of month and we haven't done anything for a week or more.

Can anyone help me or give me any suggestions? It's really putting a toll on our relationship even though he Is sweet and understands and hates to see me in pain, it's gets him very frustrated... Me as well.

Any help would be much appreciated!

If it's a burning sensation it definitely sounds like a friction/lube issue, which I know you already said you use plenty of. The relation to your period might be significant. Is there anything else in common to these times it happens you can think of - use of a particular toy, oral, etc.? Do you do any anal play?

I can't think of anything else all these times have in common. And we could do the exact same thing on two separate occasions and be really good on one, and hurt like hell the other. Sometimes there is a little anal play but not often. I've had good and bad experiences with that as well...

The body is not a computer. It doesn't follow rules. 20 minutes to foreplay = enough arousal. That doesn't work. Sometimes 2 minutes of foreplay will do the trick and sometimes 30 minutes is not enough. Sometimes our minds are ready before our bodies. Now add in how hormones affect everything and you have so many things effecting sex. Certain times of the month, you are more arousable. Unfortunately you just don't have a nice formula you can follow and sometimes you can't follow you own desires as well. It just a trial and error thing.

Can you elaborate? Just trying to get an idea of the interaction of all your parts.
