Hi. I learned today that I have a septate hymen, in a way that I am not comfortable disclosing here. But (if ya know what I mean) I did some googling and a lot of posts about seeing a doctor and having them cut it came up. I am not currently sexually active, but plan on being so within the next couple years. I don't wanna tell my mom unless I have to, and I don't wanna tell my doctor how u found out :/ help me

Yes I agree with Jenn, tell your mother you are to young to make this decision for your self. Plus your doctor would need your mothers permission to operate anyway. I think your mother will understand. She was your age at one time give her a little credit.
When out driving always turn left. Then, should you become lost, you can find your way home by reversing the procedure and always turning right.

Hi I was in the exact situation as you, I realised at 15 I had a septate hymen and it was such a pain to try and use tampons (which I tried to avoid as best as i could), and it took me until age 19 to actually get it removed by a doctor. I felt like I was a complete weirdo for having a septate hymen, I was terrified of the pain that I'd experience if I tried to have sex to 'fix' the problem. If I could reccomend anything it is to just get it removed sooner rather than later because the procedure is so simple and makes life A LOT easier !! It was pretty awkard telling my mum about my hymen, but to my surprise she said she had the exact same issue which was crazy. I experienced minimal pain after the procedure and no scar tissue or anything. Sending best of wishes xx
