This weekend past my band were playing at a wedding at a luxurious resort about 90 minutes from home and my wife & I decided to treat ourselves and stay at the resort rather than me drive home at 2am. The place was amazing (google castaways resort NZ) and in the morning my wife and I had great sex....
We always seem to have great sex when we stay a night or 2 away from home - and to this day the best sex we ever had was on our 10 yr anniversary a couple of years ago. she had bought a new scarf that day (it's now my favourite) and instead of the hotel bed she knelt down on the ottoman / foot stall in the lounge and supported her arms on the arm chair and I entered her from behind.
She was wearing her new scarf at the time too.... I can still remember the force of my orgasm as I struggled to stay standing as my penis erupted!

I think we are just too busy when we are at home as both of us work full time, I play in my band and she sees her friends.... but when we are away from home we are 'de-stressed' and more relaxed if that makes sense

That is quite possibly true, especially for couples who have been together for a number of years. It brings newness back into the equation as well as fantasy.
