    Hygeine and sex

my new BF of 2 and half months, is not big on showers, taking them, nor is he big on ripping off my clothes and having sex with me. he wanted to wait in the begining which is fine, a few weeks we waited. But he doesnt shower often, he doesnt trim up down there, and one day he didnt even shower before sex and i could smell something funky.

He also chews tobacco but doesnt brush his teeth often. He is a great guy other wise, a very nice man but his hygeine sucks and so does the sex. what do i do?

my last BF (of 3yrs) showered twice a day and was all over me all the time but he wasnt a perfect gentleman, he broke up with me a few months ago. Do i stay with the new guy and try and get him as good in bed as the last guy was or do i break up with the new guy for the old guy?

    please help

You can always teach him how to be a good lover. The hygiene is another thing. You should be upfront with him and tell him that it bothers you. I'm not sure how to do that gently but it seems like it needs to be done. You could say I will not go down on you unless you have showered. You need to get his hygiene in check before you consider a long term relationship. To me that is just gross. Sorry if that seems harsh. Good luck.

He seems like the perfect "project" women are always looking for. Treats you great, just has some rough edges.

Obviously, he needs to shower daily. No excuses. Ditto for brushing the teeth. These are deal breakers.

You can make it a fun thing by jumping in the shower with him - and maybe you could shave him instead of asking him to do it (where it becomes another chore - like taking out the garbage). Then comment on how much bigger his penis looks (because it will look bigger) and he will want to be trimmed much more often.

The last deal breaker should be the chewing tobacco. Besides the nasty hygiene involved - it can lead to cancer. And do you really want your tongue in that mouth?

I wouldn't go boyfriend hopping...stick with this guy...if he's willing to shower, brush his teeth and quit tobacco.

If not, don't go chasing your ex - there are plenty more guys out there who will treat you good AND take care of themselves.

Hey, I'm very new to all this, but seriously, hygiene is the most important factor is any sexual relationship.

I think you also need to think about own health. Have you tried talking to him? xx

It can be very difficult to talk to him. But - he may have no idea he has a problem. Maybe some evening you could suggest you both get showers (together?), then suggest something he really likes in bed. He might take the hint.

I once had a bf who was lovely but a little lax in matters of personal hygiene. He just needed some training in what was the right thing to do. When he came round, I handed him a toothbrush, a nailbrush and some shower gel and said "When you are nice and clean, then we can have some fun."

Off he went into the bathroom grumbling, but I made sure the reward was worth his while. Ater a few times of this he got the idea and started being a cleaner kind of guy.

If he's a keeper, he'll do it, because it makes you happy! It's possible nobody has ever mentioned his unsavoury personal hygiene before, you could be doing him a real favour.
