There is a potential for infections if its done sloppily and never ever go from anal to vaginal without cleaning up first. The bacteria can cause some serious infections.

Some great advice here but I have to say HUH? Are you talking about getting an STD through anal sex by someone who doesnt have an STD?

I'm against anal but I've read some good things and my friend loves it and raves on about it. My old roommate was gay and told me he loved it as well. Make sure to use a lubricant like KY which is water based because like someone else posted that's very important. Oil based ones are just bad news bears.

Lots of lube. There is no such thing as to much.
Any type of lube is ok but water based lubes tend to dry out quickly and become sticky/tacky. Lotions are ok as long as they are perfume and dye free but they tend to not last long. Silicone based lubes are great but they are not compatible with silicone toys or condoms. Oil based lubes are also great but are more difficult to wash off or out. Whatever type you decide to go with...just be generous and liberal with its use. I would avoid the types that have warming sensation or tingling sensation especially in the first few rounds of anal. They might sting or burn and you dont want that when your trying to get the hang of enjoying anal. Also, stay far far away from numbing lubes and agents such as anal eez and similar. Pain is the body's way of telling us something is wrong and if you cant feel pain, how will you know something is wrong. Its also desensitizing for the male so whats the point if he cant feel it either.Comment

always feel comfortable with what your doing with your partner
being flexable is good too though and maybe if you feel comfortable one day with plenty of lube and the right position you both can share a good feeling - if you still can't think of the idea - tell him you just can't.. simple as that.. if you keep thinking about your gay friend - focus and you will see your partner and that is allComment
